The main method of zootechnical science is scientific and economic experience (experiment). It is carried out in an environment typical for the animal breeding production the needs of which are satisfied by the experimentation. It studies the factor effect on the economically useful qualities of an animal which summarizes all the variety of changes in a body: productivity, behavior, health, etc. These qualities are rather variable under the influence of the living conditions and internal factors of an animal. The successful carrying out of experimentations on animals primarily depends on the correct methodology choice for conducting the experiment. All zootechnical experiments are based on the comparison method: based on the similarity and equality of all factors between groups or periods, except the studied one, the influence of the latter is established. The scheme choice of conducting the experiment on animals, and therefore the method of conducting the experiment, depends on the purpose of the experiment and the number of animals available to a researcher. The purpose of the research is to develop methodological aspects of conducting a scientific and economic experiment using biological methods. In the course of studying classical techniques for scientific and economic experiment and the analysis of conditions of dairy cows in the animal plant – the farm “Aurora”, we have developed the basic methodological aspects of conducting scientific and economic experiment according to the research theme 157.1 “To develop a system of standardized feeding for high-producing cows considering the biochemical animal’s status with various ways of stocking in the Russian North”. The results of the study are an intermediate stage of the research work. In the future, the authors plan to develop methodological recommendations for conducting a scientific and economic experiment in the system of standardized feeding taking into account the biochemical animal’s status for the non-binding way of keeping with various milking methods
