The authors present the rating assessment results on reproductive characteristics of the stud bulls of the Kholmogorsky breed. The purpose of the work is to compare the bulls of foreign and domestic selection of the Kholmogorsky breed by reproductive characteristics of their daughters. The novelty of the research is in the fact that the rating evaluation method was first used on modern population of Kholmogorsky cattle in the Vologda Oblast. The NDFGMRI has developed the applied rating assessment. The research base is formed on the basis of data from three breeding farms in the Vologda oblast using the information and analytical system of the APM “SELEX” – Dairy cattle. We have studied 765 daughters of 14 foreign producers and 18 of domestic breeding. The article calculates the rating for foreign and domestic breeding stud bulls according to insemination index, service period, the age of the first fruitful insemination and the age of the first calving of daughters. The paper complies a rating of stud bulls. The bull of foreign breeding Aiksaer 107966005 is inferior to the bull of domestic breeding Elf 10363 in terms of insemination index by 0.2 and has a greater value of the duration (by 26.1 days) of the service period. Also, Elf 10363 showed good results for the age of the first fruitful insemination and the age of the first calving (earlier by 0.8 months and 1 month, respectively)
